The new contemporary appearance strengthens the community

The eagle – ‘Aguila’ in Spanish – is an apt heraldic animal for a club as rich in tradition as Ideal Club de Futbol e.V., as it stands for strength and fearlessness. To mark the club’s 50th anniversary in 2017, the ageing bird can look forward to a design refresh. Because our Managing Director Ingo Kukatz has been training the club’s soccer children on a voluntary basis since 2013, we have a friendly relationship with the “Casa de España” and consider the task to be a project close to our hearts.

The old style of the coat of arms no longer seems appropriate today, and the club’s initials are difficult to decipher. The requirements for the new logo were many and varied: it had to be contemporary, independent, striking and dynamic – without losing the connection to the history and tradition of the old logo. The corporate design also had to be respected, as its high status in soccer is clearly reflected in the big clubs. And last but not least, the approval of the club members, who are keen to identify with the new logo, is what counts.

We were able to find an elegant but also smart solution for all these wishes: The logo works just as well in high-contrast black and white as it does in the four-color combination with yellow and red. The latter not only symbolize the Spanish colors, but also form the German flag in combination with black and represent the theme of integration.
