Trademark is the program
The biotechnology start-up SciRhom approached us with a brief for a branding design and the development of a trademark. For the logo, the client wanted an iconographic representation of the protein iRhom2, which is at the center of the company’s research and business activities. The protein actually has the shape of a rhombus, which then also formed the formal basis for the logo.
In SciRhom, the iRhom protein is separated and only partially used. Formally, we have visualized the splitting and separation by two non-congruent rhombi, which are also aligned differently. The deliberately different coloring highlights one of the two protein components.
Reflecting the company’s abstract activities in the logo is an ambitious demand for meaningful and successful brand design that goes beyond the technical and aesthetic requirements, but one that vierviertel was happy to meet. Conveying this in a logo is, we think, also very successful.
